At St. Michael’s and St. Januarius we will be offering a new format called “Family Faith”. You may be asking yourself, what is “Family Faith”?

Our Catholic faith teaches that parents are the first teachers of faith to their children. In an effort for Our Lady of the Lakes to support and foster this ideal we will be offering a religious education program called Family Faith (parents and kids grades Pre-K through grade 8). This program is designed to help all families learn and understand the Catholic faith and bring this knowledge into their homes and everyday life.

The program follows this format:

Also in an effort to help simplify your already busy schedules you will only need to come to religious education once a month! (Your family still needs to attend Mass each weekend). Also enclosed are the start times and dates and a registration form. Please complete the form and mail back to me with your investment fee. Mail to Cris Wensel, 180 N. Main Street, Naples, NY 14512 or drop off at one of the parish offices.

Remember if you would like your children to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation this year they need to be enrolled in and actively attending and participating in a religious education program or attend a Catholic school.

The Sacrament of First Reconciliation (First Penance) will be offered this Fall. The parent information meeting for this Sacrament will be on Thursday, September 29th at 6:30 at St. Januarius. The parent meeting and classes for the Sacraments for First Eucharist and Confirmation will be in the Spring of 2012.
