May’s Day of Prayer at Notre Dame Retreat House (Canandaigua, NY)
May 14, 2019
Sr. Monica Weis, SSJ (Nazareth college faculty Emerita in English and Communications) will present:
“Merton, Music and the More” – a presentation of five periods of Merton’s life that invites participants to reflect on their own personal stories, while expanding their knowledge of Merton. Time for quiet and for sharing.
“Trappist” – a look at Monasticism and the significance of the Rule of Benedict and life in a Trappist Monastery. An opportunity to deepen one’s understanding of monastic life and its connection to Merton and to us.
Conference 9:30am – 12:15pm followed by lunch, free time, confessions and day ends with mass at 2:00pm

3rd Annual Yates hunger walk- May 5 ...1:00pm First Presbyterian Church…..collect $ and donate for purchase of meat and food for our local food pantry. 10% of proceeds go to Church World Service with 90% being used in Yates County.  Only 3 walkers from St Michael’s last year! Drug Take Back – April 27th, 2019 – 10 am – 2 pm

This event is hosted by the Yates County Sheriff’s Office and interested participants will be able to turn over the items they wish to dispose of at 415 Liberty Street (the back of the Yates County Courthouse).

National Take-Back Day is a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs.
If you are unable to attend this event but have unused or expired prescription drugs that you would like to dispose of, don’t forget about the local Drug Drop Boxes located throughout the County.

Submitting Bulletin Material
Would you like to submit material for the OLOL bulletin? Whenever space allows, we are happy to include information about OUR LADY OF THE LAKES RELATED ACTIVITIES (and their ministries).  The  general deadline for submitting material is MONDAY AT 10AM for the following Sunday.  (Holiday Issues may have earlier deadlines, so please call office to be sure)The earlier it is turned in the better! All material is subject to the approval of the pastor so please send with time to be reviewed. Deadlines are subject to change for holidays and vacations so get it in early or call and check.
